As the captain of the Guards of Nightfall, Ryder abides by the rules and upholds every regulation to the letter. When he’s compelled to save Taryn from his mortal foes, however, several of those rules begin to crumble around him—even the staunchest one that asserts he keep his clandestine vampire world a secret. His priorities begin to shift from his duty to Taryn, which becomes less than ideal as those same mortal foes realign their sights on overtaking the vampire nation.
