I'm already on chapter twelve of the third book, and I truly can't believe it. This has been the most difficult story for me to write, as I keep getting distracted by what's going to happen in future stories.

I envision my books like the main characters are telling them. Even though they aren't written in first-person, I try to write with the tone of the characters embody. These two characters are the most tight-lipped and unfriendly of the bunch, with decades of harsh history they have to comb through to find each other. I like to think it's those personas pushing through that's making it so hard for the story to come forth, even though I am enjoying reading it.

So...what do you think? Who do you think the next book is going to feature? I love dialogue and speculation. I think it's healthy for creativity and invigorating. So share with me your thoughts! I'd love to hear them.

Happy February!

Night Ascending is still going strong after the holidays! It has a 4.6 rating on #goodreads and a 4.5 rating on #amazon! I couldn't be more thrilled by everyone that is loving this series so far. There's so much more to come and I'm having so much fun putting what's in my head into words. Reading your encouragement goes a long way, too, so thank you for your support! I also get giddy when I see people from other countries are reading my books! How cool is that?! If you're not from the US, where are you reading this from?

The end of 2024 has become increasingly challenging, and I've found it extremely difficult to balance work, life, home, and the personal matters that seem to be swarming my family. There will never be enough hours in the day to get done what I want; I always jokingly tell my husband that if I had a genie with three wishes, one of them would be that I didn't need to sleep! That being said, I'm ready and excited to usher in another productive year...even if I do want to curl up with a good book like my sleepy kitty. So everyone: here's to making 2025 better than all the rest!

PS: I think I did pretty well posting once a month, as was my goal last year for this blog. I think I only missed one!
