The next book in The Guards of Nightfall has some darker themes - but don't worry, there's still plenty of romance and slow-burn build that I know you guys love. To whet your appetite a bit, I feel as though this one line alone can surmise the entire book: "You point a weapon at her again and I will sever each and every finger from your hands with a dull butter knife before stuffing them down your throat until you suffocate."

😇

I've definitely had fun with the "touch her and die" trope. Does that little niblet of information narrow the MMC and/or FMC down for you yet? What other tropes do you think are going to present in the third book? Which ones have been your favorite so far?

I'm eagerly waiting for the warmer months and the beauty of spring. I can't wait to get back to blooms, blossoms, and boisterous sunsets - like this one! The change in atmosphere makes me feel more productive, and I'm happy to report the third book is coming along just fine. I was doing some soft edits the other day and got caught in reading the actual story! Which is a great thing because this one isn't coming as easily as Night Ascending.

I've been toying with names though, and I think I'm getting closer to something that fits perfectly, but we're still a long way away from any reveals.

What would you guys like to see revealed first about the third book? Couple? Title? Themes? Leave me a note below ⬇️!

I'm already on chapter twelve of the third book, and I truly can't believe it. This has been the most difficult story for me to write, as I keep getting distracted by what's going to happen in future stories.

I envision my books like the main characters are telling them. Even though they aren't written in first-person, I try to write with the tone of the characters embody. These two characters are the most tight-lipped and unfriendly of the bunch, with decades of harsh history they have to comb through to find each other. I like to think it's those personas pushing through that's making it so hard for the story to come forth, even though I am enjoying reading it.

So...what do you think? Who do you think the next book is going to feature? I love dialogue and speculation. I think it's healthy for creativity and invigorating. So share with me your thoughts! I'd love to hear them.

Happy February!
